Bikram Singha Movie Review: As the lights of the theatre dim and a foot-tapping title credit rolls, the audience sits up in anticipation of an entertaining potboiler. The film doesn't disappoint thereafter. Right from the first scene showing a crying child in a lonely hospital corridor to a murder in a rainy night, the mood completely contradicts the cheerful title track making it a more effective and entertaining fare.
Gupi (Prosenjit Chatterjee) and Bagha (Partha) are two happy-go-lucky thieves. Gupi's aim in life changes when he falls in love with Madhu (Richa), at a wedding reception. As their feelings for each other take a serious turn, Gupi tries to mend his ways. In an attempt to secure their future, the duo decides to rob a rich woman. But due to a fateful turn of events, Gupi discovers that the trunk that they had stolen has a cute baby girl (Osmita)! Most interestingly, the girl seems to be convinced that Gupi is her father! An extremely reluctant Gupi starts looking after the girl and after a certain point of time, they start bonding as well. Gupi's tension-free existence takes a new turn when he discovers a picture of the girl and her father. And guess what? The father's face is his mirror image!
From this moment, the rom-com feel of the movie shifts to hard-core action. A sudden attack on innocent Gupi and the child makes way for the entry of Bikram Singha (Prosenjit). He is the honest, responsible and tough-as-a-nail ACP of a place called Debgarh. Post-interval, the plot gets more complicated with twists and turns. Quite a few action-emotion-comedy-packed scenes later, the director (Rajib) stages the climax in a rugged and rustic locale. With the scary villain and monstrous goons for company, the climax is shot in a way that any Bengali commercial movie will be proud of it.
The movie has the potential to get the cash-boxes jingling simply due to its stylized making. It's an out-and-out commercial flick without any pretensions to be otherwise. The treatment, action scenes and songs shot in exotic locations are proof of the fact that it's a big-budget film that solely focuses on giving its target audience complete entertainment. Then there is Prosenjit Chatterjee. Though his Gupi-act looks a bit over-the-top and in the second half, reminds us of Chulbul Pandey, his Bikram Singha avatar is undoubtedly understated with an expression of controlled rage. Girls will go weak in the knees when he appears in the khaki uniform.
Richa too has a swell job of looking pretty. One actor who deserves a special mention is baby Titli in the role of Osmita. Her screen presence is so endearing that she can even manage to draw attention while sharing space with a star of Prosenjit's stature. Other members of the cast do justice to their roles, especially Supriya Dutta as Kali (the terror of Debgarh).
The movie is not without hitches though. The biggest of them is its length. The first half, which focuses on Gupi's life, should have been made more precise. Its slow pace contradicts the fast-evolving storyline of the second half. The dialogues could have been more crisp and last but not the least, the preludes of the songs have uncanny similarities with some Hindi chartbusters of the 90s. The gruesome and violent action scenes may make this movie unsuitable for a family-viewing.
Bikram Singha is a Bengali action film which is directed by Rajib Biswas and Produced by S. K. Movies. The main actors of this movie is prosenjit Chatterjee, Richa Gangopadhyay, Supriyo Dutta and mmany more. Bollywood actress Mahek Chahal did the merchandise melody along with Prosenjit in this movie. prosenjit Chatterjee played a double role in this movie.Prosenjit was in great mettle in a very increase position. He deals better as Bikram Singha than because Gupi, this petty thief who is wise although pretends to become silly. Bikram Singha comes much later on following Gupi to create this suspense and punch a good psychological chord each time a young girl recognizes Gupi as her shed papa but hHe is not just wedded. Although romance was in the air and this individual is in love with Madhu (Richa Gangopadhyay) for a marriage this individual goes toward together with his friend Bagha (Partho) planning to pilfer this bridesmaid jewellery. Like this the story of this movie is moved.
The music is directed by simply Bappi Lahiri as well as Sree Pritam. The fill beat from the track “Jhinta Ta Ta Chita Chita” coming from Vikramarkudu one of several melodies and the remainder is added by simply Sree Pritam, Bappi Lahiri.
