Villain – Indian Bengali Full Movie Watch Online
Arnab is an honest and upright PWD officer who gets his new posting in Kolkata. He and his wife Anjali, shift to a rented place where he is welcomed by a sweet and kind landlady. The local guys in the neighbourhood seem too eager to help him settle down. Little did Arnab know that his life wouldn’t be the same anymore…
Not many filmmakers consider the bad man so important as to ascribe the film’s title ‘ Villain
too sees a gentleman like Arnab ( Tota Roy Choudhury) transform into an obsessed killing machine, whose sole motto in life is to punish the culprits responsible for his pregnant wife, Anjali’s ( Rituparna Sengupta) death — of course, minus the memory loss episode.
other film that possibly comes to mind is Ghajini. There’s one more similarity here. Just like the Aamir Khan starrer,
Despite repeated threats to him and his wife, Arnab would neither accept bribe nor give in to the unacceptable demands of the ruffians of his locality, patronized by a political leader Shiv Shankar Panja (Rajatava). Irked by Arnab’s constant refusals, Panja’s brother Raju (Sagnik) and his mercenaries frame rape charges against him and send him to jail. The news of Anjali passing away shatters Arnab. He plans revenge. Sultan ( Sudip Ghosh), a fellow prisoner and a gangster, promises to help him in his mission.
Performance-wise, Tota shines in the film. The scene where the actor undertakes rigorous work-outs sessions at Sultan’s den is inspiring. Rituparna does a fine job as Tota’s better-half. Rajatava looks convincing as a shrewd politician and is equally good with comic timings. Sagnik does complete justice to his rowdy character. Rrishii Kaushik suits the role of a police officer. Barkha Bisht Sengupta is impressive as Sultan’s aide, Laila. She looks fabulous and adds some spice to the plot.
Well, Villain is not completely flawless. Considering the storyline and its execution, the film leaves enough scope for improvement. A bit of editing and fine-tuning could have made the film way tighter. The dialogues lack punch. Tota, who also turns director with this one, gets a bit carried away when it comes to action sequences. Too much of violence with lots of bone-crunching episodes may not appeal to everyone. The climax seems never-ending. And even if we ignore the not-so-polished production quality, the film’s major problem is its length. However, one has to admit that the film has been made with a lot of conviction and sincerity. The idea is to questions whether villains are truly as despicable as they are labeled to be.
Not much different from any typical revenge drama, it is an otherwise sad tale that ends on a hopeful note. The brawn that Tota adds to it is sure to allure action lovers to the theatre.
